1000 Club...Welcome Baylee!

Event 2 of 3 for today...wow, we're busy (and all "good stuff"). It was an "invitation only" party...and Baylee was one of 77 guests. Those invited were Arizona Girl Scouts of all ages that sold at least 1000 boxes of cookies this year. What a select group! We began by watching a professionally acted performance of Disney’s Mulan Junior followed by an interactive acting workshop at Scottsdale’s Greasepaint Theatre .

Afterwards, the award ceremony began with all the girls on stage, being called to the floor one by one. Each was rewarded with a flower and certificate. And those with 2000 sales got an IPod with personalized engraving. Many of these gals have been up there year after year, and Baylee wants to be part of that “elite group”. One mom I spoke to has been at this award ceremony for 20 years straight (due to two daughters). WOW!

There was a light snack buffet at the end of the day where each girl and mom could get to know one another better. Unfortunately for me, I got to know one mom a little too well when she fell on me, knocking me down flat as Baylee asked if she should call 9-1-1. We refer to this mom now around here as Aunt Jemima! One word…OUCH!

(The “JUDY AWARD” went to a gal named Morgan, a sophomore that sold 2,500 boxes. For that special recognition she received a $500 scholarship fro Shamrock Farms and a huge stuffed animal.)
